To Read or Not To Read

As of now, I have 10 books to finish. That's really an overload, personally.

Anyways, these are the 10 lying in my room and shelf, ready to be devoured by my imagination.

Warehouse Sale

From the BIG BAD WOLF Warehouse Sale. These four titles were only at RM8, which was too cheap for me not to grab them. Plus, 3 of them are in hard covers. They also seem to match my liking, so hopefully I can get to them soon.

Prizes from Competitions

Just towards the end of this year, I won these books.

The shiver trilogy was a random bookstore competition I entered, where the best slogan wins. I guess mine was the best :)

Bloodwood was from a fan fiction competition. I was in the top 3, so I got a copy of the book from the author himself.

Currently Reading

I'm currently reading The Child Thief, a twisted tale of Peter Pan.

I hate the cover btw, its scary and hideous.

But the contents are pretty ok, I was captivated by the first few paragraphs that I knew I had to get it. It was also on sale and my friend ended up paying for it, as an early birthday gift to me.

I'm kinda slow on this book, don't really know why. Its thick though, very thick, and I don't see the urgency to read it finish, so it has been sitting on my shelf for a week now.

I'm also re-reading HP5 on my mobile e-book.

I read 1 to 4 towards the end of my semester on the bus to and fro University and I just thought I should continue.

But since it is the holidays, I don't see why I should hurry through the book, so I only read whenever I feel like reading it.

Overall, I have not been reading much this year, I guess I'm more busy reading my own book over and over again, like close to a million times, that I don't feel like reading anything else anymore.

I also spend more time writing than reading. I guess I should get back to it soon? I hope.

Well, that is all for this post. If you have read any of the books above, do let me know what you think of them!

(Also, you can check out my recently published book here!)

Dear God,

7pm marks of the time of which my book cover would start printing. And I am fearful it might not come out the way it should be, since I did not get the chance to see it yet. The printer asked me to trust her, but I declare that my faith is not in men but in You.

1k copies is a lot, and I would not deny that I am very worried that it would not come out the way it should. But this book has been under your supervision since it started and I pray that you would take over this last task at making sure the cover is perfect. I may not be there to see the outcome, but I pray that you would have your eyes on it and that you would help me guide the printers to make the book cover good.

Please help me and assure me that everything is going to come out the way it is suppose to be. I do not have any control as of now, and I have faith that you will always have my back.

I'm once again putting my faith in You oh God. May my faith not be shaken but be strengthened through your grace and love.

In Jesus name, Amen.

Thank you God

It's thanksgiving, and even though I have never celebrated it before (just not a culture in my country) it is never too late or too early to be grateful for the things I have in life.

So for this post, it's time to say Thank you God for:

1) Putting people in my life, both family & friends
2) Giving me Inspiration/ Ideas/ and lots of brain juice
3) Blessing me with gifting and talents
4) Guiding me in my first book!
5) Helping me score good grades
6) Taking care of daily needs
7) And giving me grace and faith to achieve my dreams, & His of course.

What are YOU thankful for? Take some time to think about it today. After all, it IS thanksgiving.

The Latest Nine

What happens when you have too many TV series to choose from? You can't possibly watch all could you? Of course not.

Personally, I try not to follow more than 10 TV series. It gives me a headache as I have to remember when to download them.

So these are my latest 9:

#1 Desperate Housewives
I have been following this series since it started. A big fan and will always be. It is one of the best series that never gets boring over time, unlike the new ones that die out pretty quickly.

#2 Family Guy
I started watching FG when a friend introduced me to it. I remember insulting the series because of a talking baby, but now I'm in love with Stewie. Even though this series is pretty slow some days, but it is a great one to waste your time on.

#3 90210
Initially I wasn't interested in this one, but as I picked it up, it got so much better.
One of the best series I always look forward to.

#4 The Vampire Diaries
I started watching this series because I read the books. And even though the story and plot does not follow the book completely, it is still pretty good. Unlike the Secret Circle, which is by the same author of The Vamp Diaries, which was such a bore that I quit watching it after 2 episodes.

#5 Glee
I'm not a gleek, but I do enjoy Glee. It isn't my favourite series, but it is very entertaining. How can I not watch Blaine, in all his hotness, singing and dancing?!

#6 The Walking Dead
Just like The Vampire Diaries, I decided to watch this series because I picked up the comic in the beginning of this year. The comic is great, the series not so. The only reason why I'm still watching this is because I want to see how true to the comic this series is going to stay.

#7 Pretty Little Liars
It's the younger version of Desperate Housewives, well, sort of. I wasn't big on this series at first, and then it got interesting and so I continued watching it. Not my fav though.

#8 Grimm
This is a new TV series. It has a similar flow as Supernatural, but the only difference is that it ain't ghosts, instead it's fairy tales gone scary. I love the cinematography and the editing, and I love how they twist the fairy tale concept into horror. I personally enjoyed it.
(Even though I very much disliked Supernatural)

#9 Once Upon a Time
Also a new TV series, in which a friend introduced. I think, by far, this is my new fav series. It has so much fantasy that I'm immediately in love with it. You should check it out if you are a fantasy lover like me. Yes, go check it out right now! Highly recommended.

I have a feeling the zombie fever is over and the fantasy bug has just swept across the entertainment industry. I'm so looking forward for more!!!

This blog is barely read I presume. The only reason I'm getting traffic these days is because I look like a Mulan someone drew. HAHA!

Anyway, today, I just wanna say, that, (notice the scattered amount of commas? Yea, I'm thinking.), I feel unprofessional every time someone, tells me, that I have grammatical errors in my writing. And when this happens too often, I tend to wonder what will happen if they read my book, will they look for errors there too? Cause I'm sure there isn't. But if people actually STARE will they find any?

Everyone makes mistakes. I bet Rowling, Tolkien, Stine, Collins, and all those best selling authors make mistakes too. No way Hosea, can someone actually write a one time flawless work, and even if they have gone through it a million times, I bet there is still an error somewhere. That's why proofreaders exists, BUT you have to pay for their professionalism.

So why do I feel so horrid every time I'm told I have an error?

That's why I try so hard, on every post, to make sure there isn't any. Frankly, I don't like being told I have errors, because when I am, people can read them, and then people would think, "She's so unprofessional, I'm not going to read anything else she writes." Does that scenario actually make sense?

I don't know.

Maybe it's the nerves. First book coming out in December and I'm worried of what people think. Why do I keep thinking its a make it or break it situation when I can always keep trying? I don't know.

Blame it on the nerves.

Mulan Me

So, I'm one not to wear make up all the time, and I'm use to just the plain look with my specs on. But when I was performing a dance scene for last years Christmas Production, professional make-up artists came to make-me-up.

My friends who saw the picture went "ohh!!", "Ahh!" mainly because they have never seen me doll up in any way. I'm just too lazy like that.

But to be honest, I don't look much different. Just add the specs and release the hair and I'll look the same.

Today however, my friend posted up a picture of mulan in which someone did. The guy who did it creates one of the best work I have ever seen.

But as my friend said, the mulan looked like me. And i couldnt agree more. Most probably the younger version of me, as my kid face has more resemblance.

Anyways, here is a picture. Tell me if i do look alike or only people I'm close to think so. (This picture was done by Jirka Vaatainen)

Future Plans

I will be graduating soon. Or at least, end of next year, which is pretty soon.

I can still remember starting Uni 2 and a half years ago, fresh and naive. Today, I've learnt enough to know its not as difficult and not as easy as it seems.

By this time next year, I would be preparing for graduation, and the question I have been asking myself since the beginning of this year was what am I going to do after I graduate. I have thought hard.. and long.

What I want to be is a full time author, but I know it won't be possible, as of now. So I plan on taking on 3 part time jobs.

1) Author. Writing and publishing as many books as I can.
2) Freelance Editor(vfx), hopefully I'm good enough. That is why I'm planning my final year internship to be in an editing and visual effects house. I have just found out that I enjoy doing special effects.
3) Part time lecturer. Hoping to apply in a few Universities near my home. Apparently, part time lecturers earn more money than full time lecturers.

So there you have it. The 3 things I want to do simultaneously as I build a career as a writer and expand my bank account, hoping to produce my books into films one day.

These are just stepping stones and plans. The reason why I pile on 3 part time jobs is because I need a backup plan if one fails. But all in all, my future I may draw a rough sketch, but ultimately God is in control all the way.

I'll just have to see what happens.

Book Editing

Editing my book is a hassle, but with discipline, I'm sure to get it done soon.

I'm trying to go a chapter a day, spicing it up, using better words and killing as many errors as possible. I pray I won't miss an error.

My first book is really important, it's a kick start. I'm really hoping it will be good.

It's time to sit down, pray for the gift of spotting mistakes and a flare for awesome words.

I need to make this work. I need to make my dreams come true. I need to be an inspiration.

This is my stepping stone. This is my year. This is my time to shine.

And with the grace of God, I'll make him proud.

My Favourite Things

Medieval Ages with knights and their maidens,
Brown paper parchments and fiery dragons,
Musical instruments with no voices to sing,
These are a few of my favourite things.

A bowl full of M&M's served as a meal,
Little kittens with my heart to steal ,
Rainy days indoors with books to cling,
These are a few of my favourite things.

Beautiful colours like yellow and green,
Draco Malfoy and Slytherin,
Fantasy films with magic to fling,
These are a few of my favourite things.

When the day's hot,
When the work stings,
When I'm feeling sad,
I simply remember my favourite things,
And then I don't feel, so bad.

Don't We All Want A Unicorn?

Facebook will begin stealing your undergarments at midnight tonight if you don't copy and paste this message in the next 37 seconds, forward it to everyone in your mailing list, print a hard copy for your grandmother and call your third grade teacher. This is real. I got the message first hand from Elvis who was having lunch with Bigfoot, while riding the Loch Ness monster. It was even on the inside back cover of every tabloid in the grocery store checkout line. Not only will Facebook start charging you tomorrow, they are also going to bill your credit card for the past 3 years of services. Luckily, each person who copies and pastes this status will receive a FREE unicorn in the mail tomorrow. However, if you don't repost this status, Facebook code has been set up to automatically set your computer on fire and harm an innocent bunny in the forest! It's all true, it was on the news!

(People, don't be so naive to believe a hoax as such.

As much as we all want a unicorn, note that it is not possible to steal a unicorn from the forbidden forest or Narnia.

They are not that stupid. Unless they send you one of Agnes'.)

I took some time to think about you....

Sometimes i wonder if i'm ever worth your time... sometimes i wonder if i'm worth a simple text message, or a call. Sometimes i wonder if i mean something to you, or am i just another person you don't bother to think about. I would ask you these, but i wont believe your replies anyway. I shouldn't have given you so much.

And yet, if i state this in such an obvious manner, you wouldn't even notice i'm talking about you. Because if you did all these time, you would have done something.

From what i gather, you would rather spend a day with someone else rather than me. You would rather go out for dinner with a girl you just met than me.. or maybe i'm over reacting, i don't know, i don't care. Because between my head and my heart, both have come to a point where they know you don't care at all. So you might as well have left me out in the cold to fend for myself.

You are better off in my dreams, where you'll always be there for me, and your words are owned up to your actions. That's how you will be to me now... a dream in the night.

As far as i'm concern, the you in reality is just another person in the sea of people. Because you resemble them, finding me only when you need me.

I shouldn't have given you so much.

I Can...

1) Stand away from a group of friends and not care that i have no one as company.

2) Hold stone cold expressions worthy of winning poker games.

3) Visit my fantasy land while journeying home from Uni everyday.
4) Not make friends in a party.

5) Talk to myself out loud.

6) Win "Bluff" games and manipulate other players to take the risk while i sit back and watch them lose. (I seem to be pretty good at that.)

7) Scream and throw a fit at my brother every time i lose to him when gaming.

8) Get all annoyingly psycho-childish with people i'm extremely close to, like family.

9) Think of horrid gory stuff when i'm in physical pain.

10) Blog at this hour when i should be in bed.

That's a few things i can do that most people i know cant.

If you CAN do some of these, let me know. How interesting it would be to think of horrid stuff together in our disturbed fantasy land while we play bluff. How interesting...

In Between

Do you ever feel like you can hate someone yet love them at the same time? Is it really possible?

Because I feel that way sometimes. The strong dislike for this person, but at the same time, I still care and think for this person. Sometimes I just wanna ignore and leave this person, but other times, I wish I could spend more time with this person.

Tell me, why is it so?

If someone could enlighten me, please do. It'll be nice to know I'm not the only one.

Why Slytherin?

I bet you are probably wondering, WHY on earth would jeyna so love the house of Slytherin?

Let me tell you first that i love the house not because hot bad boys come from it, BUT because the house traits are very much like me.

Lets take a ride into the sorting hat's mind shall we?

"Or perhaps in Slytherin,
You'll make your real friends,
Those cunning folk use any means,
To achieve their ends.

Ambition, cunning, determination, resourcefulness, self- preservation

I'm ambitious. If you know me, you know that i always dream big and make sure those
dreams come to past. I'm determined to make it happen and i'll find ways to do so. If i have to sweet talk people into doing the things i want them to do, i can and will. After all, its all about self-preservation right?

"You might belong in Hufflepuff,
Where they are just and loyal,
Those patient Hufflepuffs are true,
And unafraid of toil

Loyalty, dedication, hard work

The second house i feel connected to is Hufflepuff. Why? Because i'm dedicated and i work hard when it comes to the things i put my mind to. When my mind is set, i'll do and finish it. That's just how i am. I'm also loyal, when it comes to keeping secrets and being there for friends.

"Or yet in wise old Ravenclaw,
If you've a ready mind,
Where those of wit and learning,
Will always find their kind.

Intelligence, wit, creativity, wisdom

I personally do not relate to this house. Then again, i believe i'm creative. I'm not intelligent, nor am i witty. And wisdom is questionable..

"You might belong in Gryffindor,
Where dwell the brave at heart,
Their daring, nerve and chivalry
Set Gryffindors apart

Bravery, Chivalry

This is the house i least like, and most probably would not be sorted into. Why? Well, lets start with the fact that im a chicken. No really, i'm admitting it. I run when i see a flying bug. Whether it be a flying beetle or those freaky praying mantis! I am afraid of them!

Chivalry? Haha.. right, i'm not brave, so it's rather impossible to have Chivalry dont you think?

There! you have it! I'm actually a Slythepuff (LOL!)

I've shown you why, based on my personality. Now you cant say i love bad boys, because even if i do, it doesn't affect my personality.

Now that you know where i belong, i would like to know where YOU belong and why!

Childhood Memories

There are a lot of thing you forget when you grow up, but there are also a lot of things you remember.

For me, I remember TV series.

Oh yes, I've watched plenty when i was young, but the ones i remember are always about magic, warriors and Princesses.... yes i liked princesses, princesses that end up being warriors. And that was the fantasy i grew up with as a child.

So today, i relived my childhood for just a bit when youtube-ing some videos. And now i shall blog about it.

#1 Xena (1995-1999)
The warrior princess. I remember her being tough, real tough.

#2 Hercules (1995 - 1999)
He was fun to watch. I cant remember much, just his outfit and him battling monsters.

#3 Fantaghiro (1991)
This tv series kept showing when i was a kid on TV2. I would watch it over and over again, and i can still remember bits of it, especially her as a child and the magical forest.

#4 Beastmaster (1999 - 2002)
I loved this series. Loved it alot. I like his two pet ferrets. And i remember the girl who had her feet backwards, who went by the name of Curupira. I wish this show would come back! Miss it a lot!

#5 Young Hercules (1998 - 1999)
I cant remember this one much, just that i use to watch it. I guess one reason i cant remember its content is because this series only ran for a year. So there isn't much to remember anyways.

# 6 Young Blade (2005)
(Not exactly childhood, but being 15 is still pretty young i suppose)

I surprisingly enjoyed this show. My hormones as a teen must have convinced me it was awesome cause there were lots of hot guys in it.

Now, of course there are more. TV series like Charmed and Dark Angel , which i managed to re-watch both the entire series just recently, were the series i was forbidden to watch but somehow left a memory.

When i think about these series, i feel like i had an adventurous childhood. Not because i was out climbing trees, but because my imaginations were stretched. And because of that, today i have an over flowing amount of imaginations in my head.

I just have to thank those TV series for helping me see more than reality.

The Rooster Crows

During LG last week, we discussed about Jesus telling Peter that he would betray him before the rooster crows, and how Peter did betray him in the end.

When asked what i could learn from it, my brain wasnt functioning well, and the answers i came up with didnt really relate to me on a personal level. But when i finally really thought about it, i realized something.

Jesus told Peter he was going to betray him, but Peter denied. In the end he did it anyways. And Peter was filled with guilt.

The same scenarios happen to us in our daily lives. God tell us something, sort of like a warning, dont do this, or dont do that, and we tell Him, yea, we wont. But at the end of the day, we still do it. And we have to face our own consequences.

Fact of the matter is, if God says don't do something, or warn us about what we are about to do, we best listen. I have my fair share of promising i wont do it, but end up doing it anyways, and the results are painful.

I believe the reason why God actually takes the time to warn us about certain actions in our lives is because He's trying to spare us the consequences. But being stubborn and not listening, thinking we have everything under control isnt always the smartest thing to do.

I was told, in the beginning of the year, not to do something. God warned me over and over again, but i was stubborn. Today, even though it has past, i'm still living with the consequences.

At least God didnt say i told you so, but is helping me get through this. And i know he still has my back no matter what happens.

Now i know, He warns because He knows the consequences are hard to bare.

A Fresh Start

So here i am, on a new blog site.

The only reason why im doing this is because friendster was reinvented, hence my blog was deleted automatically. I never know what i have lost, years and years of memories poured onto a... website.

Plus all those film reviews etc etc!... ahh.. so much brain juice, deleted by admins of friendster.

But it doesn't really matter. When the forces of change forces change you are forced to change. Get what i mean?

Well, I hope my old blog followers will continue to follow me in this new place. But even if they dont, i wont sob at a corner, i'll continue blogging while sobbing. HAHA.

So, if you're not following me yet, follow!
